Writing Dilemmas and Decisions

Okie doke, so I'm in the midst of my summer break (no grad school or teaching) and the plan is to be productive and actually get some of my fics rolling and posted before I have to go back to "work life" at the end of August. So, truly, I have PLENTY of time. However.....

I have TOO. MANY. STORY. LINES.

This is sincerely my own fault because I have a tendency to get hyper focused on certain characters and I want to write multi-part pieces. But, focusing has not been my forte lately...

So, what's the decision? I'm going to write drabbles using prompts/quotes.
  1. Because for most of them I have certain scenes in my head that I want to write and could eventually compile them into the series I want.
  2. I'm writing for TV shows and it is a little more episodic doing it this way since there isn't really a central plot that I'm working with (for now at least).
  3. This will hopefully get my juices flowing for one of them and inspire something longer.
For now, the hyper-focus in on Slim Sherman. The length of time is up in the air, I am never consistent in how frequently I change focus.

  1. I love the way you just worked out your dilemma and came up with a solution that you're happy with. As someone with a constant flurry of too many ideas swirling around in her head, I really envy your ability to do this.

    1. Thanks! I'm trying, that's for sure! The first drabble was easy, this one I'm trying to finish? Not so much (NSFW stuff does take me longer to be fair). But, I have a note at the beginning explaining why this foray back into that particular style took me even longer. Aiming for posting tonight.
